I’m enjoying following New York Fashion Week at the moment, especially considering one of my favourite designers has provided a lot of excitement for the event. 3.1 Phillip Lim has allowed the sun to shine through with his latest autumn/winter’14 collection. Using a muse based on the idea of ‘Soleil’, 3.1 Phillip Lim has created a fabulous collection through splashes of colour on delicate prints and retro heavy weight jackets over gentle ensembles.
I’ve always loved the simplicity and minimalism that’s presented in Phillip Lim’s collections. It doesn’t seem as if he plans on shying away from this idea any time soon as he plays with eccentric prints and simple block colours. Lim plays with proportions whilst using soft pastels of lilac and bubblegum and ocean blues.
A selection of the 3.1 Phillip Lim pieces exhibited flowing silhouettes, paired with easy going smartness . Accessories saw chained box style bags and toe-capped ankle boots. Many sporty elements could be seen in the autumn/winter’14 collection, fitting Phillip Lim’s ‘cool, easy and chic’ woman.
